Hampankatta-Pumpwell Four Lane Work to Begin on Jan 14

Mayor Vijaya Arun has said that the work on converting the Hampakatta- Pumwell stretch of road to four lanes will begin on Sunday January 14.

Speaking to press persons after conducting a spot inspection on the various development works in the city on Tuesday January 9, she said that the traffic will be diverted to facilitate the works and alternative routes will be finalised very soon.

The administration will discuss the inconvenience caused to the public and try to reduce the same as much as possible, she promised.

KUIDFC officers including deputy director J R Lobo, MCC commissioner Krishnappa Poojary, deputy mayor Abdul Saleem, former mayors Shashidhar Hegde, K Ashraf, corporators Lancy Serrao, Kamalaksha Salian, and MCC engineering department officials were present.

hmmm...four lanes eh?Is it goin to run via Balmatta or falnir?Either way I wonder how this might be achieved given how narrow the existing roads are.Anywayz lets wait and see.

Yes its a billion dollar question..nobody exactly knows how its gonna end up. i strongly believe before they begin all this four lane and stuff, they should plan of shifting all the government offices and hospitals to the outskirts..its easier said than done. but if they plan now maybe our great grand children can reap its benefits :)) now just imagine four laning from hampankatta signals to RTO office. with all this buildings, one of the lane has to pass through the wenlock hospital building, zilla parishad office, PWD office and end up at the RTO office.. hahah
