Patriotic songs and colorful celebrations marked 58th Republic Day on Friday, with District in charge minister Nagaraj Shetty hoisting the tri-colour and taking salute at an impressive parade held at Nehru Maidan in Mangalore today 26 Jan 2007.
The celebrations begain at 9am. After inspecting a guard of honour, Shetty feliciated four students, who have excelled in the field of sports. Students from various schools in the city took part in an impressive Republic day parade.
Mangalore DC Maheshwar Rao, SP Dayananda, MLA Yogish Bhat, ZP President Sushma Janardhan, Mayor Vijay Arun were also present.
