Air India Flight IX-892 Crashes near Mangalore Runway, 160 Killed

Mangalore (ABC Live):An Air India flight IX-892 from Dubai with 160 on board crashed before landing at Kenjar, near the newly built runway in Mangalore at 6:30 am on Saturday.

The flight IX-892, operated by a Boeing 737-800 with Russian pilot and co-pilot Ahliwalia had 160 passengers, four infants and six crew members on board.

Information and confirmation to this effect was shared by Karnataka Home Minister V S Acharya that,"The crash happened while landing and the aircraft immediately caught fire."
