Fight for education, students urged CFI National President

The newly launched Campus Front of India (CFI) has called upon students to fight for the education rights and oppose the commercialisation of education.


CFI national president A. Mohammed Yusuff was addressing its first State conference at the Nehru Maidan here on Sunday. He said youth, who were the biggest asset of the country, should lay the foundation for a social transformation. country. “You should be ready to face challenges and be prepared for sacrifice,” he said. Mr. Yusuff alleged that the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad was not doing much against commercialisation of education. Youngsters should fight against fundamentalists involved in creating tension. Students should carry out a campaign against corruption and violation of human rights, Mr. Yusuff said. Abdul Saleam Puttige, Chief Editor of Vartha Bharathi, a Kannada daily, said there was a need for youth to work for issues concerning society beyond the curriculum.

A mega rally was carried out in the afternoon from Pumpwell Circle to the Conference venue. Cultural activities were the part of Conference.

Mohammed Shakeer, president of Campus Front of India, Karnataka presided over the programme. Abdul Salam Puttige, editor of Vartha Bharathi, Pattabhiram Somayaji, lecturer in Mangalore University, K M Sharif, national chief secretary of PFI among others were present.

Abdul Rahiman, secretary of the committee welcomed the gathering. Imran Khan delivered vote of thanks. Nazeer and Abdul Raheem compered the programme.
