The Hong Kong based private vessel M.V. Asian Forest', which was stranded after listing at 50 degree, about 15 nautical miles from New Mangalore Port in Karnataka (India), sunk in the Arabian Sea On July 18, 2009.The vessel carrying 14,500 MT iron ore fines from the Port to China sunk in the evening after further listing due to rough weather. The merchant vessel belonging to a private firm in Hong Kong.
