Day Train Begins from mangalore-bangalore

29 August 2009

"Stop dreaming of a day train and start your journey on a day train" this was the message given by Mr. Veerappa Moily Union minister for Law and Justice here today while inaugurating the new day train to Bangalore from Mangalore.

The air at the railway station was festive, tastefully decorated train gave a long honk sporting the Mangalore-Yeshwanthpur planks on the front of the engine as well as either sides of the bogies before leaving the Mangalore central station today exactly at 8.50am.

Everything else took a secondary position even the usual harangue of the politicians. The people at the stage programme were barely countable by hand while the travel enthusiasts near the train were more, those who had the ticket to the inaugural ride boarded and occupied their seats in the new chair car while those who were there just to have a feel roamed around the train and slid down into the comfortable seats wherever. But when it was time for the train to leave they got down with a determination to board that train again for the real journey.
