As part of the decennial celebration of Father Muller Medical College (FMMC), Department of Surgery, is organizing a two-day Continuing Surgical Education (CSE 2009) programme from Saturday.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, FMMC administrator Denis D'Sa said the CSE 2009 will comprise interactive sessions, symposium and hands-on training by eminent surgeons like Kiran Kothari, K S Gopinath, Vijay Kumar, Ravishankar Bhat and others.
The sessions will cover topics such as parotid neoplasm, peripheral arterial disease, bile duct injuries, and recent trends in the management of breast malignancy. There will be a a symposium on colorectal surgery. Apart from this, Dr Venkat Rao Memorial Surgical Quiz a challenging session for post graduates will be held on Saturday. This quiz is dedicated to the late Dr Venkat Rao, the first surgeon at Father Muller Hospital. There will be hands-on training session for post graduates on basic surgical skills. More than 200 delegates from the state and neighbouring states are expected to attend the programme.
The CSE will be inaugurated by IGP (Western Range) Gopal Hosur. Fr Muller Charitable Institutions Director Patrick Rodrigues will preside.
