Students need moral education which will help to lift their spirit to building a strong nation and society. Being a citizen of India each one have to join their hands together in building a united country without communalism. Love for the nation and the society should dwell in every citizen’s body. Every organization has to work together and educate the public is the urgent need of the society said Prof K M Kaveriappa, Vice – Chancellor, Mangalore University.
He was speaking after as a chief guest at closing ceremony of ‘Religious Harmony through Education’ inter collegiate students workshop which was held on Friday 25th September 2009 at T V Raman Pai Convention Hall Mangalore.
Expressing his concern over the business oriented relation between students and teachers he recalled the words of great poet Kuvempu and said as the education process continues student loose respect towards society and their own teachers. The relation between to become mechanical and business oriented, which is not good to the society, he warned.
Morality in students is vanishing in present days. There is the need of harmonies society. Students should work in the field of building the nation. Strong relationship between student communities has to be built by education, he advised.
Students delivered the opinions and feedback by the workshop also promised to spread the message of religious harmony.
Dr Vinay Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University presided over the function. Fr Dr John Fernandes, M Ranganath Bhat, Joint Secretary Canara High School Association and Dr Gananatha Yekkar, Coordinator, NSS Mangalore University were the chief guest on the occasion.
The Workshop was organized by Cultural Research and Study Centre Canara First Grade College Mangalore in association with Dharma Samanvaya and National Service Scheme Mangalore University.
