'S M Krishna to inaugurate first Haj flight on Oct 25

Union External Affairs Minister S M Krishna will flag off the first flight of Haj pilgrims to Jeddah from Mangalore airport on October 25 at 9 am, said Haj Camp Committee President Y Mohammed Kunhi.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Kunhi said that while a total of 700 pilgrims will be performing Haj from the region, 102 will take off from Mangalore on the first day. Flights carrying Haj pilgrims will take off from Mangalore airport at 12.45 pm on all days till October 30, he added.

Tajul Ulema Assayyed Abdul Rahiman Kunhi Koya Thangal and Udupi Khazi Bekala Ibrahim Musliyar will bless the occasion, Kunhi said. State Waqf Minister Dr Mumthaz Ali Khan, District-in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar, MPs Oscar Fernandes, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Abhayachandra Jain, U T Khader will be guests.

Haj camp

A Haj camp will be organised for 700 Haj pilgrims at the Ansar English Medium School in Bajpe near here on October 24, Mohammed Kunhi informed.

He said that the camp will be inaugurated by the Waqf Minister Dr Mumthaz Ali Khan while Karnataka State Haj Committee President S Mohammed Gous will preside.

Mangalore Khazi C M Abubakkar Musliyar Chembarikka will bless the occasion. S Mohammed Gous, Haj Camp Committee district vice president Abdul Rasheed, general secretary Rasheed and convener Moinuddin Bawa were present on the occasion.
