Special art exhibition "Srishti Sthithi Laya" inaugrated

Well known folklore scientist Mr. Ganesh Sankamar has said that the nation was taking undue interest in spreading Yoga but in the same time it was neglecting the best yoga of all times -farm yoga, which will cost it dearly.

He was inaugurating the special art exhibition "Srishti Sthithi Laya" which was organized by Karavali Janabhivriddhi vedike here on Sunday. The exhibition was directed at creating an awareness on the evils of Special Economic Zones particularly that was coming up near Mangalore. Several artists had portrayed their vision of SEZ and the evil designs and the impact on environment and the food security of the people.

He said the capitalists are not short of money to grab land they will pay any amount for a piece of land, but farmers should understand that the land which is lost is lost forever and the food produced in that land is lost forever for the people. He said the SEZ was also destroying the folklore culture of the state by razing to the ground several bootha gudis and Yakshagana chowkis and many more folklore characteristics of the state. In Dakshina Kannada this malady has become more pronounced he added.

Vijay Kumar Kodialbail director of the Kala Sangama had been the chief guest. Over 20 artistes coming all over from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi had portrayed their concern about on growing menace of the SEZ.
