The prestigious Award is instituted by Kuvempu University, Shimoga and Academy of Common Wealth Education and Humanities Studies ( ACWEHS). The Award was presented by Shri D.H. Shankarmurthy, Hon'ble Dy. Chairman Karnataka Planning Board and Prof. B. S. Sherigara, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Kuvempu University in a ceremony held during National Environ Fest 2009 held at Shimoga recently.
Shri. C Jagannath, Hon'ble Chairman, ACWEHS and Prof. Puttaiah, Central Pollution Control Board, Member and Director of National Environment Research Centre and Mrs. Garg were present on the occasion.
