Congress to oppose Water supply to Nagarjuna Project

Today talking in a press conference which was organized at North Block Congress Party office Mangalore Vijay Kumar Shetty, Former MLA Surathkal said, Congress party is strongly opposing the MCC in providing water to Nagarjuna Project.

This decision of BJP government is will effect the publics of 60 wards of Mangalore City Corporation. Present these wards are facing the problem of drinking water facility.

MCC providing water to Nagarjuna power project will be targeted by public of city. This idea has come by the influence of Ishwarappa, Minister Karnataka government. He is pressuring the authorities of MCC and sign for the agreement, he blamed.

Nagarjuna project requires more then 24 crore liters of water in a day, but MCC is not able to fulfill the present needs of Mangalore city corporation area. Providing water to Nagarjuna project is doing injustice to the residents of MCC, he expressed his concern.

Therefore congress party members have decided to protest against MCC on 26th September in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office and give a memorandum to District Commissioner asking for the cancellation of water supply to Nagarjuna power project, he announced party’s stand provision of water to Nagarjuna project.

Harinath, MCC opposite party leader, Suresh Ballal, Abdul Saleem and T K Sudhir were present in the press meet.
