Mangalore University Level Swimming held

Mangalore University Level Swimming Competition was held today at Mangala Swimming Pool Urva, Mangalore.

Competition was organized by SDM College of Business Management & Post Graduate Centre for Management Studies & Research Mangalore.

Dr. Ashuthosh R Boloor, Consultant Ophthalmologist, SDM Eye Hospital Mangalore inaugurated the even and said, present sports persons are losing concentration on sports. Many of the athletes take part in sports only during college days. After going to the job they forget the field and lose interest in sport, which is unhealthy to the sports field. It should not occur in this field everyone has to encourage sports persons and get them in a achieving field, he opined.

Dr Devaraj K Principal, SDM College of Business Management delivering presidential address said, interest towards sports is very low even the encouragement. Already we have requested University to provide necessary sports equipment encouragement to bring out sports talents in Mangalore University. It is a slow process but present the encouragement towards the sports very important, he added.

Swimmers from SDM College Mangalore, SDM College Ujire, St Aloysius College Mangalore, St Philomena College Puttur, Canara College Mangalore and University College Mangalore participated in the competition.

Nikhil Ramesh Poojari and Sanketh Bengre, of St Aloysius College Mangalore and Arun Kamath, Canara College were the national level swimming athletes able to target on individual championship.

Ashwini Bhatt and Manasa of SDM college were the women all rounder participants.
