Fight in Jail

Fisticuff between 2 prisoners in Kodiyalabail district jail on Friday morning resulted in the injuries to prisoner Ravi (23 yrs) of Shimoga.

Fight occurred for the reason to sit in the plat form inside the cell. Firstly verbal clash started between the Ravi, Ismail and Arif and then other prisoners Moiddin Bhava, Iqbal were crashed with hands. Prakash Pinto scraped at Ravi’s neck with a blade. Ravi suffered scratch injuries. Ravi is originally from Shimoga district and is in jail in connection with theft case.

In the jails first room a plat for is there for the prisoners to sit but it is not for an enough to sit all the prisoners. There are 40 prisoners are there in the cell and only a few prisoners can sit on the plat form, said sources in the jail.

A case has been registered at Barke police station regarding the fight. The prisoners involved in the fight were shifted to other cells.
